Snapshots of School

Our first two weeks of school have gone well.  I’ve tweaked some of our routine, but for the most part, we’re doing well with my original plan.  The favorite subject is science…. astronomy.  Everyone is enjoying learning the planets’ names in order, working on lapbooks, and making a relative size model of the planets (above).

Emma had been bugging me to buy her a uniform type of outfit when we were out looking for school clothes, but I couldn’t justify spending the money on a non-essential item of clothing.  😉  But a fellow homeschooling mom had several secondhand uniforms she needed to sell, so we went and looked at them.  Several fit Emma, so I decided to get a few.  She loves them.  🙂

Our unofficial science project involving caterpillars is going well too.  Emma put a few in her butterfly house and one of them has already started his chrysalis.  When I took this picture, he was still wiggling!   This little guy is still gorging himself on parsley leaves.

Garrett is in school too… I somehow just missed taking any pictures of him!  I’ll have some soon.  Sorry, Garrett… I DO love you, too!  🙂
