Packing Tip #1: For infants, put each entire outfit (onesie, romper, socks, diaper) into separate ziploc bags. Squeeze out the air and you can pack a lot more into a smaller space. When it’s time to dress the child for the day, ANYone can grab a bag and the whole outfit is there.
When they’re old enough to dress themselves, they can’t make AS big a mess when all they have to do is grab a bag and everything is there for them. No rummaging through looking for a pair of socks.
Now that they’re even older, a whole outfit won’t fit in a ziploc bag, BUT shirt, underwear, and socks will, and pants can be packed loose. Still less mess and they just have to grab a bag and a pair of pants.
We’ve been doing this since our second child was pretty small, and it’s by far the best way I’ve found.
Packing Tip #2: The day before you head home, try to do all the laundry you can. When you pack it back up, pack differently! Pack socks together, shirts together, underwear together, etc., so that when you get home, all you have to do is open the suitcase and unload into drawers! 🙂
