Christmas in Michigan

So we headed to Michigan after a few restful days in Kentucky.  The trip was fine, weather was good and traffic was light.  Garrett seemed to be feeling a BIT better, but still not himself.  There was SNOW in Michigan!  The kids couldn’t wait to get out and play.  They all stayed out quite a long time for as cold as it was (for them).  Garrett didn’t do much, but didn’t want to come in, either….

No, he didn’t want to come in…
First snowball fight!

They had all been so eager to see grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  There was a lot to be done!

More "work"

And of course, special time with Grandpa!

It was hard (especially for Grandpa) to wait for Christmas day.  We knew aunts, uncles, and cousins wouldn’t arrive until just before lunch, but it ended up being ok…. because of our trip to the ER Christmas morning, WE were the last ones to arrive back at the house to start the festivities.  We had lunch first, and then… it was time to share gifts with each other!

He was worn out by the end of the day. He wore his “Woody” clothes to bed Christmas evening and every night afterward!

It was a lovely time, with lots of laughter and fun.

We went to visit my Grandpa and Aunt Bee, Aunt Paula, Stacey and John.  It was another lovely visit.  Emma was feeling sick that day and stayed for some special quiet time with Grandpa and Grandma N, but Garrett and Cass were feeling better and enjoyed the trip and the visit.

We arrived back home in GA on New Years Eve.  We were so glad to be back home, but we have made more wonderful memories of fun times with our family members so far away in Kentucky and Michigan!
